ShaiVi Studios is an artistic collaboration between the wife & husband team of Shaili and Vivek Wig, who were drawn together by a shared aesthetic and a love of fine art. They each have a different area of expertise and design background, but together they create art that is synergistically expressive.

Shaili’s background is in Fine Art and Graphic Design. She creates art strictly from her imagination and likes to plunge within to create her vision. Often she uses found objects in her pieces. During her years in the corporate world she had stopped creating new art. The constant encouragement from her husband and her niece Sasha, who inspired the creativity in her again, gave her the right push to restart her artistic endeavors.

Vivek has been a self taught artist for more than 16 years. His background is in Economics, Computer Systems Management and Business Administration. He worked in the construction industry for a number of years before founding a company creating software for the Real Estate industry. In 2001 Vivek sold his software business to focus entirely on his lifelong passion – Art.

Vivek draws on his varied background for his artistic vision. His philosophy is that art is intensely personal, and there is a piece of the artist in every work created. An avid artist, designer and photographer, Vivek wanted to find a way to bring these beautiful expressions of color, form and designs into the living spaces and hearts of one and all. He believes “art allows us to see one's soul. It certainly is an expression of one's aesthetic essence and for me, therefore, evolutionary.”

With their designs and art Shaili & Vivek carefully hand craft an array of unique and functional home and business accessories to beautify all living spaces. Their chosen medium is ceramic tiles onto which the art & designs are transferred using a process similar to silk-screening. Some of the designs are exclusively transformed into clocks while others are used to make exquisite wooden serving trays, coasters & trivets, keepsake boxes, and other objects d’art. Their painstaking craftsmanship gives each piece finesse and smoothness which magically delights the senses.

To create a complete and cohesive line of Home Décor, they use some of their designs, photographic images, and art to create limited edition ceramic tiles as wall hangings (an image on one tile) or mural installations (an image on multiple tiles), as kitchen backsplashes, or as deemed appropriate for the particular image. In recent years they have done commissions throughout the country, working with architects and designers.

Shaili and Vivek are partners in life and art. When they begin work on a collaborative piece they share in the entire design process. ShaiVi Studios encompasses both their individual and collaborative works.
